The Construction of our High Technology Green house

TheMaltaFlorist has been a passion project of ours since 2019 when we were awarded European funds (Measure 6.1) to build the first high technology greenhouse on the island. Our project is entitled TheMaltaFlorist.com Growing devotion, delivering emotion.

Our main farm is located in Fiddien, Limits of Rabat. Unfortunately this site could not be used for our greenhouse since this project required the use of electricity and in Fiddien we do not have access to Electricity supply. Therefore we started by securing a field in Gharghur where we managed to install electricity.

This project was not an easy one for us to secure as after obtaining quotes from several suppliers around the world Quotes were obtained from Malta, Spain, Italy, Germany, Holland and Turkey and finally finalising the purchase of the greenhouse and receiving it in 2020. Covid hit the world like a tonne of bricks. The supervisor who was supposed to come down to Malta from the Turkish company where we bought the greenhouse could not travel. This slowed the project down for us but we did not give up. We finally managed to Start construction of our high technology greenhouse in 2022. This involved a great deal of work and collaboration between many professionals including architects, Surveyors, health and safety specialists and more.

We are happy to announce that we will soon organise an official launch of the greenhouse and selling the first premium roses to be grown on the Island. We are extremely excited about this so please stay tuned to our blog for more news on our official opening.
